HOMETOWN INSURANCE AGENCY, LLC
Hometown Insurance Agency, LLC is the new name of Settle Agency, an
independent agency that has been in business in Kalispell, MT since 1973. Settle Agency
provided all lines of insurance coverage for Flathead, Lake, Lincoln and Sanders County
residents, specializing in writing insurance for farms, home and personal autos.
In April of 1998, the agency was purchased by Elizabeth A. Story, a long-time employee who
formed Settle Agency. The agency continued to provide insurance coverage for local farms,
homes and autos; expanding to provide a larger choice of commercial insurance coverage for
local businesses, manufacturers, contractors, and commercial log, dump and flatbed
truckers operating out of the Flathead Valley.
Our staff includes 3 full time licensed agents and 2 associate agents who specialize in
AFLAC and Medicare supplements. During the summer months we employ local young people
through the Northwest Montana Human Resources Employment & Training Program to assist
our year round support staff.
All agents are trained to handle multiple insurance products. At Hometown Insurance
Agency, the agent who insures your home and auto can also provide your commercial vehicle
and business insurance coverage. We have weekly staff meetings and discuss all new
policies written. When a policyholder comes into our office, the first person they see
knows their name. As a matter of fact, we received so many comments on the hometown
atmosphere of our agency, that in 2002, we chose our new name to reflect our commitment to
local customers.
Elizabeth Story, the owner and principal producer of the agency, combines over 5 years
experience in insurance claims with 5 years experience working with attorneys opposing
insurance companies. This, along with 15 years experience as an insurance agent, gives her
a unique perspective of the insurance industry, and provides the agency with a
comprehensive understanding of both company’s and client’s points of view.
Hometown Insurance Agency has established a reputation for getting tough jobs done. We are
proud to represent financially secure companies with excellent claim payment histories,
and offer a strong voice to those companies on behalf of our clients.
